This segment is where I will put most of the stories based on personal experiences and some on the experiences of others in SCUBA and some stories outside SCUBA. It will be so noted when someone else's experience is informative. Please keep in mind that if I state something funny about a body recovery operation, it is only in retrospect. All recoveries are extreme tragedies for families, friends and recovery personnel. I appreciate your indulgence. Those readers that have never done a recovery operation on a drowned victim, may not understand the stress involved and the aftermath of private humor to allow us as rescuers to vent out our feelings. These recoveries were done by highly trained NEW MEXICO STATE POLICE SEARCH AND RECOVERY TEAM DIVERS. As you have seen I was very involved in this process for 13 years. Do not attempt any recovery on your own. These recovery stories may not be for you. All names are changed to protect the confidentiality |
